We also need to educate children on what they will use in the work place. You said the same, but appear to be mistaken. They are being educated on what they would use in the work place if they started now. It will change, and they need to be prepared, to accept that change, understand why it has happened, and that there are more often that not alternatives (not just in computing) that are as good or better than something they are used to, and often bored of.
