I have already tried and failed because istanbul needs a few
dependancies I think that do not seem to get installed when I use the
Kubuntu clicky install approach. It does work (!) but only for a few
seconds, looking a bit like it cannot handle the memory or something.I
do not know enough to satisfy yth e dependency needs in the limited
time I have just now, and I cannot see the other apps for screencast
in the K/Ubuntu programs or apps lists etc, though I would like to
have a go myself.

yes please I mostly prefer Kubuntu even though kde is a bit overweight.
