I have a DWL-122 (no 'G'). It uses the prism2_usb module and my
interfaces file looks like:

auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
wireless-essid 7mfr
wireless-key xxxxxxxxxx
wireless_enc on
wireless_mode managed
wlan_ng_key0 xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

If I remember correctly, I installed the linux-wlan-ng packages. I may
have had to use them to install a firmware from the driver CD (can't
quite remember - it was a while ago).

I can't say whether this approach works with the G122, of course.
