Is this Breezy? I find I have the same problem on Breezy, but i find that if I click 'Cancel' when I get the password box then I can get though. Maybe this might work for you too?
It does seem to always ask you for the password - maybe this is a bug? Does anyone know if this is fixed in Dapper?
Cheers

Sorry if I seem a bit dim, but I am getting on a bit. I've recently installed broadband using a desktop PC and a laptop which are wirelessly connected connected to my router. I have a separate machine running Ubuntu without a wireless card and so that is connected to the router via an ethernet cable. The first time I tried, I was able to access both the Windows machines from Ubuntu once I had installed Samba. Since then, however, when I try to access the Windows network I am asked for a password (which I have never set). My usual Ubuntu login password is not accepted. I would be obliged if someone could tell me how to proceed. Many thanks, Keith. -- Keith Bowerman, Prestwood, South Staffs, England. Using Ubuntu 5.10 on a Linux only machine.
