Over the past couple of day we have made greatly imporved communication via IRC using the #ubuntu-sugarteam, #sugar, and #seeta channels. Nice work.
Tomeu suggested that we each read over How to Ask a Question at http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html . IRC is kind of a weird way to communicate. We are spread across time zones, projects and cultures:) May hackers just leave their IRC client running when ever their computer is running. It they hear a ping they know someone is calling their name. With this in mind: ... it can occasionally take hours for someone to reply. It is nothing personal, they just happened to be doing something that could not be interrupted. ... there is no need to say hello or ask permission to do something. Just go ahead and ask your question:) It saves the busy developers like tomeu, alsroot, and bernie a 'round trip or two' when providing help. Eventually we will all get to know each other. The important things for achieving good answers is the quality of the question and the reputation of the person asking it. So far we are 3-3 every question to #sugar has resulted in a useful fix. Before long we will be pushing these fixes to our up stream projects. david -- Ubuntu-sugarteam mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-sugarteam
