Forget gnash, if you really want to play flash contend, use Firefox without anything, since HTML 5 already does provide much that is needed and if you need full flash support bite the bullet and install google-chrome-stable. If you really want to install a flash thingy, than install the outdated Adobe Linux thingy, but forget gnash. Mike already pointed out, that flash isn't the culprit. Stay with the kernel that does work and don't care about the update. What ever might be or not be the culprit, IMO it doesn't make much sense to file a bug against whatever regarding to the issue you experienced. At least not at the moment. Just for the record, did you test if QupZilla http://www.qupzilla.com/ does fit better to your needs, than the bloated Firefox does?
