There are some funny things happening  concerning the installation of
the kernels. We will be looking at this before the release of 13.10.
-generic should not be installed as long as the user doesn't install it
specifically.


Funny indeed. I like the automatic check for updates, but if Software Updater includes stuff I didn't install it's destructive, not useful. It seems there some pro's to manually checcking for updates...
