I accept the challenge and will look into this! :) Perhaps I can even start a PPA to package it for now.

I was just asking to make sure there isn't some kind of social/cultural/technical/whatever issue between Qtractor and Ubuntu Studio. Glad to hear there isn't!

Hey Studio people,

I've noticed that Qtractor is only at 0.3 on the new Studio 9.04 (recently 0.4.1 was release), isn't included by default, and also isn't available in Add/Remove programs (only in Synaptic). Is the lack of love intentional? ;)

(I don't have any investment in it. I just think it's a very promising alternative to full-blown Ardour, and can only improve with exposure.)

Hi Tal,

The release of 0.4.1 took place on April 4th, well after Jaunty's Feature Freeze deadline of Febuary 19th.  I can't say what plans are for Karmic Koala, but I'll be glad to take a look at some point.  If you have some extra time kicking around there are a couple things that you could do to move this along:
- file a bug in launchpad that requests the new version (or comment on an existing bug - no need for duplicates)
- watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJzM2LNOtWU or read this https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PackagingGuide/Complete#Creating%20A%20Debdiff and attempt to make a debdiff yourself
- attach that debdiff to the bug as a solution
(I know you said you're not invested in it, but who knows who else might decide this is within their abilities to help out ;)
