You should already be a member of the "video" group so no further configuration should be needed.

I never had a 'video' group after install. I had to manually create this group and then put myself in it (or else do the 'audio' fix I mentioned earlier). This fixed the permission issues. I should say that I never did install the video packages for Ubuntu Studio, since I do not use them. I use only audio and graphics. Would this make a difference?
