I already replied on ~server-vip, but just to make it more visible: I
raised this question yesterday on #ubuntu-devel, and the official answer
(from Julian) is that add-apt-repository will *not* be deprecated and is
still the recommended way to add PPAs to one's system.  Having said
that, there are certain functionalities of add-apt-repository (not
related to PPA support) that can be considered as deprecated.
