It seems a local configuration issue, asked for more details about the changes made in the config file. https://pad.lv/1883614 - (New) [sssd] - sssd got killed due to segfault in ubuntu 16.04 -> Marked as Incomplete. The segfault is not reproducible and the reporter was not able to provide a core dump.
