Yes, on May 19 there was a commit which I think allows what you'd want.
It allows multiple groups to be specified, and both containers in the
'null' group and the onboot group are auto-started by default.  This
will find its way into utopic, but is (I'm pretty sure) inappropirate
for trusty, unfortunately.
