Public bug reported: I have multipath-tools installed on my thinkpad to experiment with an iscsi install we have at work.
Today I tried to mount an SD card inserted into a Transcend TS-RDF8K reader. No go either from KDE or the command line: armalota@armalota-thinkpad:~$ sudo mount -t vfat /dev/sdc1 /tmp/mount mount: /dev/sdc1 already mounted or /tmp/mount busy dmesg says: [55808.061841] sd 13:0:0:1: [sdc] 31116288 512-byte logical blocks: (15.9 GB/14.8 GiB) [55808.064061] sd 13:0:0:1: [sdc] Write Protect is off [55808.064071] sd 13:0:0:1: [sdc] Mode Sense: 21 00 00 00 [55808.066184] sd 13:0:0:1: [sdc] Write cache: disabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA [55808.071312] sd 13:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI removable disk [55808.073515] sd 13:0:0:2: [sdd] Attached SCSI removable disk [55808.089075] sdc: sdc1 [55808.095418] sd 13:0:0:1: [sdc] Attached SCSI removable disk [55808.335453] device-mapper: table: 252:2: multipath: error getting device [55808.335463] device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table I google that error, find this page: http://forum.ubuntu.ru/index.php?topic=206829.45 Following the suggestion therein, I purged multipath-tools, replugged the reader, now I'm back in fine shape - able to mount my SD card to my heart's content. What will help debug this further?
