I tried "sudo apt-get install nis nfs-common" on a 12.04 cloud instance and got a hang on "Setting up nis (3.17-32ubuntu4.1) ...". This looked like it was hung on a "start ypbind" command. Killing that gives me similar results.
However, I don't have a functional nis server, so perhaps this is expected? So I'm not sure I can confirm this bug right now, but I'll leave these notes here in case someone else can look at it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nis in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1062802 Title: package nis 3.17-32ubuntu4.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nis/+bug/1062802/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
