I got the same issue, but my host OS is RHEL 6.3 (2.6.32-220.el6.x86_64), the qemu-kvm version is 0.12.1.2 , and my guest base image is Ubuntu 12.4 LTS. My problem is: After I enable the libvirt_use_virtio_for_bridges = true in the nova.conf, the new instance can not get ip address and the gateway can not be added in the router table.
