Hi, Idem with Ubuntu 12.04, mysqlnd extension does ont appears in phpinfo().
What I've done: Ubuntu 12.04 Server 64 bits (french tongue) apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade apt-get install gnome-desktop tasksel: chosen LAMP added your ppa Installed php5-mysqlnd 5.4.4 from ubuntu's software center I surely missed the same merror message encountered by CSRedHat member. One PHP 5.4 interesting new feature is the mysqlnd extension enabled by default.
