Public bug reported: Was upgrading from 11.10 (which was upgraded from 11.04 and so on going many, many versions back). Then while upgrading, the computer froze, then the screen lost its signal, and finally the computer eventually attempted to reboot it seems. It froze in text mode with some boot up or shutdown messages on screen. Had to force a hard reset.
