Public bug reported: I would like to see some way to set ad-hoc DHCP options with Eucalyptus. For example, I need my instances to have MTU <=1496 otherwise packets will get lost, but rather than try to modify images and enforce by documented policy for new images, it would be much simpler to be able to set this option via the DHCP server.
Attaching my branch which has a rudimentary implementation using a VNET_DHCPOPTS config setting. I'm not exactly proposing to merge this as-is, but I didn't want to invest more time in it unless this is something that might be accepted into the project. I think that a generally more flexible DHCP config would be appreciated by a number of people for different purposes, but would need to go beyond a simple config addition such as is made here. ** Affects: eucalyptus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Opinion ** Changed in: eucalyptus (Ubuntu) Status: New => Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to eucalyptus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/769568 Title: Ability to set ad-hoc DHCP options -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
