Hi Thomas, exactly how are the systems connected? How are eth0 and eth0.5 configured?
If you simply First system: ifconfig eth0.5 192.168.1.1/24 up Second system: ifconfig eth0.5 192.168.1.1/24 up are they able to ping each other?
