We disabled the AppArmor profile, but there was no effect on this error. We reviewed the domain controller logs when one of these authentication failures happened. There was not entry in the domain controller logs stating that the authentication was attempted. For all successful authentications, there is an entry in one of the domain controller logs.
We have complete wireshark traces for when a failure occurs. I can forward them along if required. This issue does not happen on SLES 10 SP2. There is a workaround in place to use a SLES server to perform the Samba authentication, and have the SLES server NFS mount the Ubuntu server to access the data. This is a less than optimal configuration. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/526464 Title: intermittent authentication: check_ntlm_password: Authentication for user [someuser] -> [someuser] FAILED with error NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
