Public bug reported: Binary package hint: bridge-utils
An external machine DHCPing through a local bridge causes the computer to crash (monitor goes to energy saving mode, unable to recover). This only happens after a successful DHCP from the external machine. (ethernet address removed) My bridge is very simple: eth0 is to the LAN, eth1 is to the external machine (a Dell laptop with Windows XP) brctl show bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces br0 8000.00xxxxxxxxba no eth0 eth1 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: bridge-utils 1.4-5ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.33-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Sep 27 11:32:53 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) ProcEnviron: LANG=en_CA.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: bridge-utils ** Affects: bridge-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 maverick -- dhcp through a bridge causes crash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/648956 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bridge-utils in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
