I have kept a PPA "samba" at: https://launchpad.net/~csurbhi/+archive/ppa/ Can someone try it out and confirm if it works for them or not. If it is confirmed, I will resend this fix to the samba devel mailing list and we can get it in Ubuntu. Thanks for your help.
