You have been subscribed to a public bug: After upgrade to Kubuntu Jaunty from Intrepid, Samba (server) stopped working. There are multiple machines on the network, half of them Linux, half of them Windows XP. Samba server is running Jaunty. Samba was working correctly before the upgrade and everybody was able to connect to the shares, now remote connections are not working.

smbtree from remote show SERVERS workgroup empty.
I tried with preferred and local master set to yes, it didn't work
either.
Configuration file didn't change from before the upgrade, although I
tried changing lots of options to no avail.
