I'm using samba 3.4.0 on ubuntu 9.10 I just looked into "/etc/dhcp3/dhclient-enter-hooks.d/samba" and found that there is a test for value changes, before reconfiguring and restarting samba. There is just the problem, that the old values are never loaded, so of course this test will always fail and the update (and reconnect) will be performed.
Is this file part of samba or part of dhcp3? I would apreciate a corrected version sometime. A little info where to get those old values would help, too. A little help, how to change the output from tty to log would also be nice.
