Public bug reported: Binary package hint: winbind
winbind 3.4.0-3ubuntu5.1 installs and works, but nothing involving apt works after it's installed. Update manager doesn't find updates, running sudo apt-get install [any package] fails with a message about "something wicked happened". Reloading the repositories won't connect with any servers, and gives the same "wicked" message. As soon as winbind is uninstalled, no reboot necessary, apt works fine again. (I tried to use apport for this, as per instructions, but couldn't get it to report anything.) ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [karmic] winbind installation causes apt to fail https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/502762 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
