I'm not sure why this is happening. I installed both libsensors4:amd64
and libsensors4:i386 at the same time on a test system, and it worked
just fine.
Could you please run these commands and show their output:
sudo apt update
sudo apt -f install
dpkg -l | grep sensors
dpkg -S /etc/sensors.d/.placeholder
ls -la /etc/sensors.d
