Proposal to resolve this issue (as I quite like the way RabbitMQ uses @'ed units).
Ship @'less and @'ed epmd.{socket|service} units in the erlang packages, all installed by disable by default. So epmd does not get started by default; only when another erlang application expresses and interest in it with a After/Wants clause. This also avoids races on reboot with apps that optionally start their own version of epmd if one is not already running. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server, which is subscribed to rabbitmq-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1808766 Title: fails to start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/erlang/+bug/1808766/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
