I'm seeing many messages like this one in the logs:
Use of uninitialized value $reply in scalar chomp at 
/usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Passthrough.pm line 66.

I believe this was fixed some time ago in Ubuntu already. Could you
please run these commands one more time to make sure there are no other
pending updates?

sudo apt update
sudo apt -f install
sudo apt dist-upgrade
