Thanks for filing this bug in Ubuntu. This bug is a duplicate of #1731502, where samba is installed on a machine which is not a server and has no network connectivity before someone logs in. Typically this is a wifi network that is only available after login. I suggest you run this after logging in and making sure the network is available: sudo apt update sudo apt -f install ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1731502 nmbd starts fine with no interfaces, but doesn't notify systemd that it started -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1788340 Title: package samba 2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.2 failed to install/upgrade: installed samba package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1788340/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
