I'm not sure we are understanding each other correctly. I am not sure what the change you made to multipath-tools has to do with this bug, but the change you made to parted which is still sitting in the -proposed pocket is incorrect and needs to be rejected. Instead of changing parted, it is multipath-tools that needs changed to not use the -part naming scheme. Changing parted to use -part will also break dmraid.
