Just experienced this bug with Ubuntu 14.10. Tried to share a folder from Nautlius, it prompted me to install samba, which I did (2:4.1.11 +dfsg-1ubuntu2), but then it gave the aforementioned error. I even tried to run the net usershare command manually from a new console login, just to make sure I was in the appropriate groups, but it didn't work.
I noticed that /var/lib/samba/usershares was owned by root:root, mode 755, so I changed it to 775 and the group to sambashare, and that seems to have fixed the issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/894804 Title: 255 cannot create tmp file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/894804/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
