Public bug reported: PEP 466 <http://legacy.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0466/> backported Python 3 security enhancements for OpenSSL to Python 2.7.x. As part of the port, _ssl.sslwrap(). AFAICT, this was never a public API anyway (it does not appear to be documented), but eventlet was using it, thus it is incompatible with Python 2.7.9 (when that is released). Of course, when 2.7.8-7 was uploaded to Utopic, it pulled the hg snapshot from 20140909, so this change came along with it.
This is a legitimate upstream failure: https://github.com/eventlet/eventlet/issues/135 I'll wait to see if anything gets fixed upstream before trying to craft a fix. Since this is security critical code, I'd prefer for someone with upstream domain knowledge to propose a fix first. ** Affects: python-eventlet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ftbfs ** Tags added: ftbfs -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to python-eventlet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1371291 Title: FTBFS caused by PEP 466 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-eventlet/+bug/1371291/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
