Public bug reported: On Trusty x86_64 trying to to boot using the OVMF EFI firmware causes some kind of lock-up. inside the VM as soon as it boots. The VM was created through virt-manager. When it hung I copied the command-line and stripped it down to run from the terminal. Diagnostic info suggests the processor is stuck in the BIOS since the EIP doesn't change:
