Public bug reported: Binary package hint: samba-common
The directory /etc/samba contains a spurious file gdbcommands which does not appear to be documented. To the extent that I am able to guess what it's for, it should probably simply be removed, or else documented e.g. in the /usr/share/doc/samba-common/README.Debian.gz file (which does not currently exist). http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=299919 hints that it may have been useful at some point, but I don't see any reference to it in /usr/share/samba/smb.conf or /etc/samba/smb.conf any longer (if there ever was one). vnix$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 vnix$ uname -m x86_64 vnix$ apt-cache policy samba-common samba-common: Installed: 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 Candidate: 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 Version table: *** 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 0 500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid-updates/main Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com intrepid-security/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3 0 500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages vnix$ apt-cache policy samba samba: Installed: (none) Candidate: 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 Version table: 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 0 500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid-updates/main Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com intrepid-security/main Packages 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3 0 500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gratuitous file /etc/samba/gdbcommands https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/304388 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
