@Max-Ulrich Farber I disagree and I don't think you can speak for others like that. Considering the Linux kernel and Samba itself are shared between hundreds of Linux distributions and that Samba is basically the same (in this context) on other operating systems such as FreeBSD etc., it is clear that its the responsibility of the distribution especially considering scripts existed already and were simply executed at the wrong stage of the shutdown sequence.
