I don't feel that opening another bug for the same issue is helpful and have marked Bug #288914 as a duplicate.

This is of much more interest than any other issue. The patch I submitted to this bug brings NTP down and restarts it when an interface comes up. It was based on the fix that was supplied by heindsight. It was applied after testing and confirming, like J Carrera did, that it worked. I don't have a machine with multiple interfaces available, but I suspect now that the code runs for *each* interface, causing NTP to be restarted multiple times. While annoying, this should not actually cause it to fail. I'm much more interested in attempting to determine what starts NTP and how to fix that. -- Onno Benschop Connected via Optus B3 at S31°54'06" - E115°50'39" (Yokine, WA) -- ()/)/)() ..ASCII for Onno.. |>>? ..EBCDIC for Onno.. --- -. -. --- ..Morse for Onno..
