as explained in the smb.conf manpage that has been cited here, the
'create mask' will only ever /restrict/ the permissions set on files, it
will not /add/ to the permissions; so to force group permissions on, you
should use 'force create mode = 060'.

Since there is a follow-up noting that this does work, I'm closing this
bug as invalid.
