Public bug reported: It's a usability problem that openss-client behaves differently the first time you connect to a host, particularly if you hop between client machines all the time and might or might not have connected from that particular client before. It would be an improvement if it would just silently add new hosts without asking. (I don't understand why it has to ask, anyway.)
This silly question also dilutes the usefulness of the question about what to do when a known_hosts key has changed, which is important and has far-reaching security consequences. ** Affects: openssh (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ui ** Tags added: ui -- Wishlist: add new host keys to known_hosts without asking https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/207686 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
