I currently run Ubuntu 13.10 (Unity) on a similar, but older, Toshiba A205 laptop from 2007. It runs quite nicely for casual internet browsing, coding, ISO testing, and bug reporting. I even have Steam loaded, and can run a bunch of indie games, too.
