No idea how the flashing from different OSs works, we only tested the flashing from Stock Canonical Ubuntu Touch, but afaik it also works from stock android, not sure about that. I don't have a meizu to test right now, sorry.

I enjoyed using (and donated to) Ubuntu Touch. However, now that UT is end of support (soon), I changed over to Revolution Remix (Android 7) <https://forum.xda-developers.com/meizu-pro-5/development/rom-aicp-nougat-12-0-unofficial-t3478872>.

I've since tried to flash the ubports image <https://wiki.ubports.com/wiki/How-to-flash-existing-ubuntu-touch-devices-with-Ubports-images>, but the RRemix sets up a weird root that doesn't seem to allow the flash to complete.

Presumably I have to flash the old beta recovery/Flyme version that enabled root?

Can anyone suggest what's needed to flash the Flyme beta (link, step by step process), then hopefully to ubports.
