Mark Shuttleworth probably said it best when he said that they were
riding a wave bigger than them. At least all of Canonical's innovation
will live on through those who managed to ride the wave to the end. It's
just an awful pity that those who have lasted the journey so far do not
have freedom in their mindsets. Maybe the FSF's call for a FLOSS mobile
phone system has more urgency now that Ubuntu and Firefox are no longer
in that space.
