Hmm. It seem to have managed to finish downloading now anyway - despite
having been stuck at 5.8 MB for several hours! Ah well - at least I can
update now.

Don't you have SSH access, or ADB?
I would create a new dir in phablets HOME and move (use 'mv' and not
'cp') all these files, but not 'log', to this dir. Reboot and hope that this
triggers
the download again.
