I would always consider buying the Ubuntu edition of a device, since that
way you can avoid having to jump through the unlocking hoops.

Hi Francisco, I do think you're missing the big picture here. This
project is a work in progress in an ever changing technological landscape.
It is not a waste of time because every software release, every test,
every bug report, etc, is a step forward in the right direction.
Also it is not a waste of money because you always have the phone. If
the Ubuntu phone software doesn't make you happy you can always flash an
Android, or Lineage OS [*], image to the device.
