You can even open and save files in GNOME apps that way. If I need to do a *very* minor update to my website, for instance, I sometimes use Nautilus to access it (my SSH key automatically authenticates), right-click > Open with > Gedit the HTML file, make the change, hit Save, and exit.

It's a very handy feature.
