[Ubuntu-phone] Convergence for early adopters

I am curious how much stuff should work at the moment for Unity 8 on a 
full size computer. Are people in Canonical starting to use Unity 8 as a 
daily work platform?
At the moment I am stuck on 
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1535058 so I can't 
do anything but log out but if there is a way past that can it be used 
for real yet? One problem I have with testing it is I have no idea what 
the current status should be.
