Another option is to use the account plugin I wrote ages ago: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~danielholm/owncloud-app/trunk/files Once the account has been created, the account-console tool could be called from a script to retrieve the account info. Though indeed, at least for the time being, a simple configuration app might be the best choice.
