Why on earth did I write Firefox? I meant the stock browser (if that's the browser that comes with the OS install).
It seems to be a 3G issue, as video plays on my 100Mbit Kabeldeutschland through WiFi-N at home. It also happened when I was connected to a Samsung phone Wifi Hotspot bridge to LTE.
