1. Ensure your device is connected to the host computer via USB,
Developer Mode is enabled and the screen is unlocked.
2.
Start a terminal on your host computer with (Ctrl+Alt+t) and run the
following command:
|phablet-config writable-image |
After reboot your device will be in RW mode and you should be able to
write to the file system to e.g. install packages for testing.

Wayne,
Stupid question, how did you set it to RW mode?

which version of owncloud are you running?
I have my system RW mode
You could try enabling RW and see if it works ?
Then disable it if you dont want to run RW ? just to eliminate?

You guys are awesome - I have hope now again of extracting myself
from google. Also, for whatever reason, I can only see one google
calendar at a time in the Ubuntu Calendar. Weird.
Anyway, could you please clarify:
1. Are the repos you've enabled for the phone or your server
Repos are for the server.
2. Which packages on the phone have you installed/updated
Phone was cleanly reset OTA 8 without extras.
Previously the phone worked fine with the in-built syncevolution.
The only packages I installed were owncloud-client-cmd for
commandline file sync, setup as a cron job each hour.
I didn't try the owncloud-client-cmd package. Looks interesting.
crontab -e complains about a read-only file system.
I tried to add: "*/10 06-23 * * * /home/phablet/bin/synccal.sh"
But it ended in the error bellow:
crontab: installing new crontab
/var/spool/cron/: mkstemp: Read-only file system
crontab: edits left in /tmp/crontab.mjog7d/crontab
Do you need to do something for crontab access?
Looking forward tp being able to set this up again. Thanks for your
help!
I find that it's the dev community that makes Ubuntu (and oss et al)
so great.

No idea what's going on now with owncloud - was never
supported, but
until recently I've been able to find workarounds. Am getting
same issue
below.
My Calendar and Adressbook sources are both on owncloud, since I
start
using my Aquaris 4.5 ubuntuphone; it still works well under OTA 8.
Have given up for now - will try google calendar and contact
sync. Here's to hoping owncloud gets official (or even a working
community port) support at some point in the future.
I agree, and I think that having only Google as remote source for
Calendar and Adrressbook is a nonsense, since many of us use
ubuntuphone just to avoid that.

Upgraded yesterday to 8.2, from the new repository:
http://download.owncloud.org/download/repositories/stable/Debian_8.0
# dpkg -l owncloud-server
...
ii owncloud-server 8.2.1-1.1 all The owncloud-server package
and tried a sync on the phone this morning. All went well.
I can provide the output of "syncevolution owncloud contatti" if
you want.

I can confirm, just installed from the new Centos repo:
http://download.owncloud.org/download/repositories/stable/CentOS_7/ce:stable.repo
Disabled the old suse repo, and yum updated, I'm now on 8.2.1 (with
some minor php warnings).
Sync works without a hitch.
Thanks,
Eran
