well, did you check syslog for apparmor denials ... the script calls
multiple subshells, i guess apparmor wont allow this from teh terminal
directly (you could enable ssh and log in via "ssh localhost" in the
terminal, that might change the apparmor behavior ...)
you should also consider that your process will be stopped once you put
the terminal app into background ...
