Hello everyone, Some good news today. We seem to have a fix (or a workaround one might say) to the Unity8 hang-on-boot blocker bug [1]. Once we confirm it completely and QA signs it off, we will finally be able to build our first vivid RC image and begin the assessment tests. We're a bit late in our schedule, but better later than never.
Because we were blocked with vivid today, QA had the occasion to do some ubuntu-rtm/14.09 silo sign-off in preparation for the hot-fix OTA. This quick OTA should be ready for release around next week. Many countries have holidays around the nearest weekend, so it's hard to time a definite date. And afterwards, in the next weeks, there will of course be our first official vivid-based OTA - but that only after the assessment testing is done. Also - for those that are landing to the overlay PPA. Soon we will deploy a script that will be responsible for closing bugs after landings to the overlay PPA.
